CZFC Lagoon Dredging

During the year 2022, an important industrial project was carried out in the Coyol Free Trade Zone, which consisted of cleaning and dredging the rainwater lagoon located in this area. The lagoon had accumulated a large amount of sediment and other materials, which affected its capacity to retain rainwater and its function as a drainage system for the industrial zone.

The removal of this large amount of material represented a significant earth movement and a challenge for our team, due to the fact that the project deadline was only one month. In addition, this initiative contributed to improve environmental and safety conditions in the industrial area, as well as preventing contamination of nearby water bodies and protecting the area’s biodiversity.
In short, the project to clean and dredge the Coyol Free Trade Zone’s storm water lagoon represented an important action to protect the environment and ensure the safety of the area. The extraction of 11,900 cubic meters of material by means of machinery was a significant achievement that improved the lagoon’s capacity to fulfill its drainage function, which contributed to improve the people quality of life of who work in the area and the environment in general.

The project was carried out through the use of specialized machinery, which extracted approximately 11,900 cubic meters of material from the lagoon. This excavation and cleaning process improved the lagoon’s capacity to retain water and consequently reduced the risk of flooding in the surrounding industrial area.
